Since The Omnivorous Bear began… ooh, all of three weeks ago at the start of October, 2009… we have all started talking about cooking more and people have been adding comments to the posts which has been brilliant.
If I had really thought this through – or had some professional input into this – rather than it just being a place to show you what I have been doing, then we would probably have had another section to this blog. I think what we need is a separate page so that you can say hello, or ask questions or suggest ideas. It’s all very well having the ability to comment at the end of each post but sometimes there are things that don’t particularly follow on so we need somewhere where random comments and messages to each other can be seen.
I’m sure there must be a way that I can organise it so that you can upload pictures of your triumphs as well – that would be good, wouldn’t it? I must find myself a computer genius…. no point having a Bear and growling yourself, I always say.
And this is as good a picture that you’ll get of the Bear. He’s so very shy and modest 🙂
So then… if you want to, say hello and tell us what you are cooking or ask any questions.. at some point I will manage to sort out how you get pictures on here so you can show us all. Won’t that be great?
(Still put your comments at the end of the posts though – that helps everyone else who may be thinking of doing that recipe!)
EDITED … well, there you go, it seems I can’t add posts to this page. Nor can I get you to add photographs. I sought technical help from the Bear ( a computer scientist genius) and he found out all that. Huh.
My plan now is, for everyone that cooks, if I can get their photographs, I will make a post JUST FOR THEM and add the pictures… they can add comments or send me something to add to the post. Everyone else can chip in as well. The post will be categorised in the T.O.B. Cooks section… so all you have to do is click on that and you find all the wonderful cooks who have tried recipes from the site.
Do you think that will work?
LATEST NEWS – because I have changed the template – the way to find your pages is to go to the Category drop down box and select T.O.B. Cooks and up you all pop!
We can but try! I’ll send you something about my experience and we’ll teat the theory……..:-)
teat?? I mean test obviously!
And it worked… check it out!
Before I send you something, I would like you to know that at home I am called the ‘Food Assassin’ 🙂

What can I say, just love the blog. After many years of cooking for just two of us, it became a routine, chops one day, always pasta on Friday, steak on Saturday, etc. If entertaining, I would plan for weeks and weeks but some things were always bought like Bread. Had never had any success and gave up. I began reading the blog religously and realized I was not alone so I gave bread a try once again. First time – did not quite work out but from Wendall’s help and encouragement I did it and continue to do so on a weekly basis. Have even managed to have a local shop import some Allinsons flour so I can try the other breads.
Am looking forward to trying many more of the receipes, especially Dahl and chicken receipes and will try to remember to take pictures to ecourage others. It is never too late to try new things. Thanks Wendy and The Bear – keep blogging.
I’m just checking in to see why nothing is happening on this blog??? Hmmmm…Mrs Bear??!! 🙂
Oh Anri, I know…I’m so busy. And tomorrow I fly to Taiwan but I truly promise ill write something!
